The bid pipeline

Track every tender your team works on - stages from Watching to Won, assignees, labels, tasks, go/no-go scorecards and automatic change tracking.

The pipeline (/pipeline) is your team's shared bid desk. Every tender you work on is a card that moves through stages, with owners, tasks, comments and automatic change tracking. It's part of Pro and Business.

Stages#

Open stages: Watching → Qualifying → Go / no-go → Bidding → Submitted.

Closed stages: Won, Lost, Cancelled, No bid.

Use the stages the way your team actually works. A common pattern: Watching for "interesting", Qualifying while you read the documents, Go / no-go once you have the facts, Bidding once you've decided.

How do I add a tender?#

  1. 1

Click Add to pipeline on any tender card (search, alerts, For you, bookmarks, shared messages) or on the notice page.

  2. 2

Choose the stage (Watching by default) and who to assign (you by default).

  3. 3

Click Add to pipeline. You'll see "Added to Watching in Nutcracker Oy" with Open in pipeline.

A tender can only be in an organisation's pipeline once. Prepare a bid on the notice page adds the tender in Bidding and opens its Bid tab. Bookmarks can be moved in all at once with "Move my bookmarks into the pipeline".

Three views#

Switch at the top. A funnel strip shows the number and value of items per stage.

Board#

Each open stage is a column. Cards show the title, buyer, value, deadline countdown, assignees, labels and a badge when the tender changed.

  • Drag a card to another column, or use the card menu (⋯): Move to a stage, move up or down, Assign to me.

  • Close as Won, Lost, Cancelled or No bid. Closed items show with the Closed or All filter.

  • Filters: Open, Closed, All, Archived, Mine, Unassigned, Closing in 7 days, Labels, Countries and a quick text filter.

Today#

"Needs attention today": tenders closing soon, tenders that changed, pending go/no-go decisions, your tasks and unassigned items. When a deadline has passed, it asks "Deadline passed: submitted?" and offers Mark submitted.

Table#

A sortable list with inline editing, bulk actions (assign, move, label, archive), Export CSV and Save view for filter combinations you use often.

Tip

Press ? to see keyboard shortcuts. For example j/k moves between items, a assigns to you, 1–5 moves to a stage and / jumps to the filter.

Assignees, labels and priority#

Assignees
up to 10 people per tender; the first is shown as the owner.
Labels
shared by the organisation, eight colours, up to 50 per organisation and 20 per tender.
Priority
high, normal or low.
Watchers
assignees watch automatically; others can click Watch.

Inside an item#

Click a card to open its drawer, or Open full page. The tabs:

  • Overview: the tender's facts, changes, people, Our bid (bid value, win probability), internal deadlines (for example "Questions to the buyer") and labels.

  • Decide: award facts, scorecard and AI fit (see below).

  • Bid: the bidding assistant, for tenders from Spain, Italy, France and Germany.

  • Tasks: a checklist with assignees and due dates.

  • Comments: type @ to mention a colleague. Comments are visible to the whole organisation.

  • Activity: who did what, plus changes to the tender itself.

Go / no-go: the Decide tab#

Bidding costs time. The Decide tab helps you pick the tenders worth it.

  • Facts from award data (no AI): the Incumbent, the Competition in that category and country over 36 months (who wins, typical number of bids, award values) and Buyer behaviour (awards to first-time suppliers, award value vs estimate).

  • Bid / no-bid scorecard: score eight criteria from 1 to 5, such as Strategic fit, Capability, Competition and Risk. You get a weighted total and a recommendation. Write the Rationale; admins click Go or No-go, members Propose Go or Propose No-go.

  • AI suggestion: a 1–5 fit, red flags and questions for the buyer, based on your company description on For you. It uses your weekly AI allowance and is shared with the organisation.

Change tracking#

While a tender is in the pipeline, Nutcracker watches its source for corrections, deadline changes, new documents, cancellations and the award notice. The card shows "N new changes" until someone opens it, and the card's deadline and value update.

Important changes (deadline changed, cancelled, award) notify assignees and watchers in the app and by push.

When the award is published, Nutcracker proposes the outcome: Won if your organisation is among the winners, otherwise Lost with the winner and price. A member confirms it.

Watch out

Check the change list before you submit. A corrected deadline or a new document version can change what your bid must contain.

Archive or delete#

Archive hides an item without deleting it; restore it from the Archived filter. Delete from pipeline removes the item with its tasks and comments, and only admins can do it.

Frequently asked questions

Who can see our pipeline?

Everyone in the active organisation. The pipeline belongs to the organisation, so switch to the right organisation on /team if you can't see your colleagues' items.

Does Nutcracker notice when a tender changes?

Yes. While a tender is in the pipeline, Nutcracker watches its source for corrections, deadline changes, new documents, cancellations and the award notice, and flags them on the card.

Who can make the go/no-go decision?

Admins decide Go or No-go. Members can propose a decision, and the proposal appears in the item's activity.
